On the hills of Texas, a fascinating residence is born as the reproduction of a traditional Tuscan farmhouse, but with a particular charm. The creators are the interior designer Marcus Mahon, together with the architecture studio Gary Furman who, starting from a rural country house very similar in structure and in volume to the Tuscan model, gave life to a discreet environment, refined and without excesses in which the perfect synthesis of tradition and modernity are blended.  The materials and the pieces of furniture have an extremely rigorous character, aimed to create a warm and comfortable environment, like in the best country tradition, giving preference to simplicity and light.  A totally different atmosphere in a Florentine villa that, like the head of a ship, stretched out on the hill of Settignano, dominates the impressive territory of the Tuscan province.  The villa is called “Il Quercine” and peeps through, partially hidden between the ivy that covers the surrounding wall and the infinite tones of green in an ample park-garden, to which the well known landscaper Pietro Porcinai contributed to the architectural development.  The restoration, by architect Riccardo Bretoni, brought a number of modifications to the internal volumes, while still maintaining unaltered the structure of the terrace. 

An attic conceived to live the open spaces.  This is the objective that the architect of the project, Cristina Finucci aimed at, for producing a residence in the centre of the capital.  It is behind Piazza Navona, only a few kilometres from the Chiostro del Bramante and it is articulated on two levels, for a total of 220 square meters.  Heart of the project was the re-distribution of the surroundings and the creation of internal architectonic spaces of great fascination, furnished with objects of art and antiques, in order to preserve a certain coherence with the historical origins of the structure in which the attic is situated.
